Went to STA Travel, where we didn't get much in the way of helpful information. The girl that helped us did seem to think that -dispite out advanced age- we could probably get student rates.

She also pointed out that it might be easier to go from Beunos Aires to South Africa than it would be to go from Santiago to New Zealand. So, that might effect the direction we travel around the world.
